Originality is what matters!

To be original means not to be charlatanistic or pretentious. Everyone who has the ability to think would certainly know this. It is about being who or what you actually are, not what you want to make you appear to the public eye. We can behave differently, and no doubt everyone behaves differently. We have the God-given right, free-will, to do things differently, though there are certain restrictions when one becomes extreme. But to me, at the end of the day, what matters most is my intrinsic personality, originality. Though in social networking forums like facebook et al. one can ubiquitously strewn ones and others’ profiles with malicious comments and erotic updates, which, to the eye of other folks, may appear utter bullshit and insane, it’s not a big deal if your inner essence does not corrupt.

No matter how much you flirt or how many times you make blatant malicious remarks, it won’t cause a ripple until and unless you don’t pervert and stick to morality from within. What I meant to convey here is, what is more important above all is one’s conduct; that’s why we say “actions speak louder than words.” But wait a second! When I emphasize on conduct, I don’t meant to say that we should totally refrain ourselves from indulging in filthy and insane things and live ascetic lives by abandoning worldly pleasures. Some of the most radical enlightened beings like Divine Madman and Chogyam Trunpa Rinpoche flirted loads of chicks and led tipsy lives, which, to ordinary beings, appeared insane and outlandish. But the truth is, they achieved enlightenment. Unless one sees the link of truth and believes it unswervingly, it makes hardly any sense whether you get up from a drunken stupor or lure and seduce loads of chicks.

I am time and again being struck by this line: “What others think of you is none of your business.” I google searched to track down the person who proclaimed this, but, alas, I couldn’t trace it. Though foes and critics of you could judge you solely on the basis of your behavior, probably bad ones, what counts more to my eye is one’s inner essence, your originality. After all, it’s you who is the architect of your life. Others may draw conclusions about you by labeling as such a despicable human scum because you deliberately do strange and outlandish that do not suit others’ eyes, one should not be offended by others’ misjudgment for what they perceive is not your originality, but your parody.

Originality can be analyzed in myriad ways. Though a person from a rural village or a backward country maybe enjoying the speedy roller coaster ride of globalization, he/she should constantly remind his/her root or origin; You may work in Wall Street and lead your life surrounded by wealth and smoking hot chicks, you should not forget the situation and conditions of folks where you were born. As humans we should be sensitive and realistic enough to read one’s originality. So folks, let’s be original. Being original, to me, is the only staircase to ‘make your life beautiful,” which indeed is the title of this blog.
